To reach the summit of the Pic du Midi, simply let yourself be whisked away on a magnificent ascent. All year round, summer and winter alike, head to La Mongie, a ski resort in the Domaine du Tourmalet. A 1,000-metre climb covered in 15 minutes in the cable car cabin… just enough time to wake up before reaching the Pic at an altitude of 2,877 metres.
The journey begins as soon as you board the cable car. Within a few minutes, the scenery changes and the mountain reveals its full grandeur. Once at the summit, everyone can explore the site at their own pace: the panoramic terraces, the famous ‘pontoon in the sky’, the visitor areas and the observatory, a leading centre for scientific research. Here, the mountain is as much to be admired as it is to be understood, in a setting where nature and science come together.
