Meeting local producers

You can buy local produce directly from the farm when it is open to the public, as well as at the Halles de Lourdes and at local markets. There you’ll find, amongst other things, cheeses, honey, jams, cured meats and many other specialities from the Pyrenees.

You’ll have the chance to meet a range of producers and craftspeople who bring the Pyrenees region to life: cheese makers, beekeepers, farmers and confectioners. Each one shares their expertise, their craft and their passion through their products.

You’ll find several restaurants and brasseries, particularly around the Halles de Lourdes, which showcase local produce. Here you can sample specialities such as Pyrenean trout, Bigorre black pork, garbure or duck confit, all prepared using local produce.

Among the typical pastries and sweet treats of the Pyrenees, the Gâteau à la broche is a must-try. You can also try the Tourte des Pyrénées with blueberries. These specialities are available from several local bakers and producers around Lourdes.
