What do you need to take with you on a snowshoe hike?

Make sure you bring high-top, waterproof walking boots, warm clothing in several layers, gloves, a hat, sunglasses and water. In the mountains, the weather can change quickly: it is important to adapt your kit to the conditions on the day.

Can you hire snowshoes in Hautacam?

Yes, equipment hire is available at the resort. We recommend booking your equipment in advance during busy periods.

Is this activity suitable for children?

Yes. The easiest routes are suitable for families with children. If in doubt, please don’t hesitate to contact the resort or book a walk with a mountain guide.

Gentle slopes and the lack of danger make Hautacam the ideal place to try snowshoeing with the family for the first time. The 6-kilometre groomed circular route is the perfect way to get to grips with the activity. Snow-capped peaks are everywhere here, and the 360° view means you can spot them clearly.
