Lourdes Lake

on a stand-up paddleboard

Explore the lake on a stand-up paddleboard

Fancy exploring Lake Lourdes at a leisurely pace? Grab a stand-up paddleboard and set off on a peaceful exploration of this natural area, taking in the views of its shores…

Why give stand-up paddleboarding a go? at Lake Lourdes

Glide across the lake in the early morning, watch the trees’ reflections on the water, drift gently away from the shores, or soak up the last rays of daylight in a unique atmosphere… Stand-up paddleboarding offers a unique way to explore Lake Lourdes. Whether standing on your board or simply sitting back to enjoy the scenery, everyone moves at their own pace in a peaceful and unspoilt setting.

A cocoon well-being

The first thing that strikes you from the very first strokes of the paddle is the setting you find yourself in. The Pyrenean mountain range, the wooded banks and the views of the surrounding countryside are straight out of a postcard. Glide silently along the banks and take in the spectacle before you. Ducks and moorhens are everywhere, and a few coypu have also made their home on the lake’s shores. The marshland vegetation is clearly visible, particularly in the western part of the lake. The peat bog is, in fact, a designated Natura 2000 site.

What if your fondest memory was taking place on the water

Each season reveals a new side to Lake Lourdes. In spring, nature comes to life, the banks regain their colour and the first water lilies gradually appear on the surface of the water. It’s the perfect time to enjoy the tranquillity and watch the lake come back to life.

In summer, we recommend setting off in the early hours of the day. The sun’s rays gently illuminate the Pyrenees whilst the lake is still perfectly peaceful. A special moment to glide across the water, almost alone, in a timeless atmosphere.

At the end of the day, the experience takes on a whole new dimension. Settle down together on your board, let it drift gently, and enjoy the last rays of the sun as they set the sky ablaze and are reflected on the lake. A simple moment, yet often an unforgettable one.

Finally, in autumn, the trees lining the shores are ablaze with colour. The lake then becomes a veritable living painting, offering one of the season’s most beautiful backdrops for a gentle paddleboard ride.
