The Pyrenees and the valley from Lourdes to Gavarnie are essential highlights of any road cycling holiday. The great mountain passes, especially the Col du Tourmalet, attract many cyclists from all over the world, who come to enjoy a rewarding challenge and overcome their limits on slopes with tough gradients. Our area features over 25 remarkable passes and climbs, and the very high concentration of passes is this destination’s greatest asset. The Tour de France and other events, such as La Haute Route, La Marmotte and La Pyrénéenne are among the special events you can experience on our roads! Several road bike itineraries have been designed for all levels of ability, from the great mountain passes to quieter roads, from the piedmont to the mountains. These routes were designed with input from cyclists from our valleys and you’re sure to love them!
