For those of you not wanting to walk, why not check out the Little Tourist Train which can take you on a 45-minute tour of the town taking you to different museums along the way?

On the edge of the Lourdes woods(6.5 km/approx. 4 miles away), the “Ferme du Bon Air” petting zoo givesyou the opportunity to get close to a wide range of species that are typical on our farms. Rabbits, ponies, poultry and sheep are among many animals awaiting your visit in this lovely green open space.
Only 13 kilometres (approx. 8 miles)away from Lourdes, the Parc Animalier des Pyrénéeszoo invites you to observe typical fauna from the Pyrenees up closely, such as brown bears, wolves, greedy marmots or mischievous otters.
Do you prefer observing fish? The Pyrenean tropical aquarium in Pierrefitte Nestalasis also worth a trip (19km/approx.12 miles away) to see different species from the southern seas.
At Beaucens (21 km/approx.13 miles away), the Donjon des Aiglesoffers impressive shows to present different birds and in particular birds of prey.
At Asson (25 km/approx. 16 miles away), the Asson Zoo has something to delight the whole family giving them the chance to see different species from Africa, Australia or South America…
Up for something a little more thrilling?
For older children, the area around Lourdes is an exceptional playground. The Gave de Pau river invites you to try your hand at rafting, hydrospeed or kayaking while the smaller mountain streams open up the possibility of going canyoning.
The Parc de loisirs du Hautacam (leisure park) with its activities for summer (Mountain Luge, Devalkart, Sherpa..) and winter (downhill and cross country skiing, Mountain Luge) guarantees an excellent day out for you and your family.
The Parc Chloro’Fil welcomes you to try out its 13 tree top adventure circuits accessible for families with children over the age of 4. For the explorers among you, potholing hits the spot while the calmer ones may prefer to discover the Lourdes lake from a stand up paddleboard…
Fancy relaxing together?
Fancy a spot of swimming?In summer, the Lourdes beach is ready to offer you safe and free swimming. You can also hire a pedalo for a leisurely ride or just spend some time fishing. The water sports area with its inside and outside spaces is also an excellent place to have fun together as a family throughout the year. Fancy cycling? The Voie Verte des Gaves (bike trail) takes you effortlessly through the Gave de Pau valley and its pleasant bordering villages provide well-earned reststopsalong the way.
Different marked tracks enable you to discover the local surroundings from up high: the Jer and Béout mountaintops, GR78 and 101, Henri IV way,the lakes of Hautacam...The choice is yours! Feel free to ask us for advice.
All year long you can have a go at golf or improve your par on the superb 18-hole course with the most breath-taking panorama over the Pyrenees and the lake..
A few minutes away from Lourdes, les Grottes de Bétharram (caves) take you on an underground discovery of the Pyrenees during a 90-minute long guided tour..
Also very close to Lourdes you have the Parc du Lutin Pêcheur which gladly welcomes budding fishermen and women giving them the opportunity to catch rainbow and brown trout.
