Petit train LourdesWhen you arrive at Lourdes airport at 1.15pm on Friday, you will have several easy options for getting to the town of Lourdes. A taxi service is available for a quick transfer to your accommodation. There is also a shuttle bus at the airport, which will take you to Lourdes station and the tourist area. Once you’ve put down your bags, you’ll be ready to enjoy a perfect weekend!

After dinner, attend the Marian torchlight procession, a unique and exceptional experience featuring lights, singing and the prayers of many pilgrims.
The next day, after an early breakfast, set off to explore the Pyrenees on an organised excursion and be amazed by our majestic sites. In the morning you will visit the Pont d’Espagne bridge, at the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, and can recharge your batteries by the torrents and waterfalls. Various hiking trails will allow you to explore the area fully. After a break at the spa resort in Cauterets, it will be time to go to Gavarnie and its natural cirque. When you stand before it, the immensity of the place cannot fail to move you. Set off for a walk from the village and explore this amazing backdrop, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. More athletic visitors can go to the foot of the Grande Cascade, one of the highest waterfalls in Europe…
Once you get back to Lourdes at the end of the day, you can attend a performance of the “Bernadette de Lourdes” musical, an excellent way of immersing yourself in the history of Lourdes and the apparitions…
At 9.30am every Sunday, the international mass brings together pilgrims of different nationalities in the surprising Basilica of St. Pius X. At the end of the morning, discover the Château Fort de Lourdes, a fortified castle, and its Pyrenean Museum, which is celebrating its centenary this year. After stopping for lunch, you can take a walk in town and discover many attractions and museums: Le Petit Lourdes, the Wax Museum or the Pic du Jer and its funicular. There’s something for everyone. At the end of the day, go and unwind on the shores of Lourdes Lake, take a seat on a terrace and enjoy the sunset…
On Monday, before you set off for the airport, take a detour via the Halles de Lourdes. This architecturally distinctive covered market is an ideal place to discover the local specialities.
