A popular board sport

A board, an oar, and you are all set for an exploration of the Lourdes lake. Standup paddleboarding is a very popular sport, ideal for a trip on the water in a 52-hectare lake. You can get into the water easily at the jetty and set off to explore the lake’s fauna and flora.

A nature outing

The first thing you notice after a few strokes of the paddle is the scenery all around you. The Pyrenees mountains, the wooded lakeside and the view over the Lourdes golf club are straight out of a picture postcard. Glide in silence along the shore and enjoy the spectacle before your eyes. There are ducks and moorhens everywhere, and a few coypu have also made their home at the lakeside. The marsh vegetation is easy to see, especially in the western part of the lake. The peat bog is listed as a Natura 2000 site.
