At the gates of Lourdes, at an altitude of over 1,500m, lies Hautacam. At once a ski resort and year-round leisure park, Hautacam offers a wide range of activities for children and adults to enjoy.
Do you dream of going sledging in summer as well as winter?
In Hautacam, everything’s possible!
One of the great advantages of mountain luge is the opportunity to sledge downhill all year, whatever the season. Alone or with another person, you sit in a sledge safely attached to secure rails, and travel 800 metres downhill at high speed or at your own pace, as you are in control of your speed. An original activity to enjoy with the family for a really fun day out. You can take in the valley’s exceptional scenery and admire the unique view of the whole Pyrenean massif.
A charming hike in the Pyrenees, Isaby Lake
Isaby Lake is a legendary lake in the Gaves Valley, 50 min from Lourdes.
From Hautacam, it takes 30 to 45 min to reach Isaby Lake, where you can discover the sunny side of the surrounding peaks. Follow the markings for the itinerary on your own or go with a guide to show you the way.
This easy hike allows everyone to see the mountain from a new angle, and feel a great sense of accomplishment when they reach the lake. Isaby Lake is also an ideal place to try fishing with the family in a mountain lake.
The mountain luge at Hautacam is not just for grown-ups. Children aged 7 and over can ride alone in a sledge if they like, whereas younger ones, aged 3 to 7, have to be accompanied by an adult. The Hautacam mountain luge is also accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Visitors at Hautacam pay using the resort’s own currency: the tacam! 1 tacam = €1. Tacams are loaded onto a card which you present at each activity terminal. A mountain luge ride for 1 or 2 people will cost you 6 tacams. Prices are on a sliding scale according to the amount of tacams purchased.
